Who's Hungry?

Even though Bridget was feeling a bit bad about picking horror books, consensus was The Girl with All the Gifts was good.  Everybody agreed four stars to it!  Our next book was suggested by Kim C called One Summer by Bill Bryson.  I'll get a poll out for dates after I talk to Kim. I'm guessing mid to late July so get your book now!

The Girl With All the Gifts by M R Carey

Last night as always we had a lively discussion about Unbecoming by Rebecca Scherm.  We mostly enjoyed it but all agreed it had some pacing issues and did not answer all the questions or wrap up very neatly.  Perhaps the book needs a sequel....

Bridget is hosting the next book club for June.  The book is The Girl with All the Gifts by M R Carey. A meeting date poll will go out sometime next month.

Feb 2017 Peace Like a River by Leif Enger

We voted and we're meeting Feb 20th at 6pm to discuss Kim C's book pick Peace Like a River by Leif Enger.  Location TBA.  I've updated the blog with reviews to peruse....

Wishin' and Hopin'

There were no discussion questions on the interwebs for this nifty little Wally Lamb book so the four of us who came last night to discuss had to wing it.  Consensus was it was a nice book.  Not especially "holiday-ish" but it takes place between Halloween and Christmas and there is a Christmas pageant that it builds up to...  Nevertheless, thank you Lisa for picking something light and airy for the season!  Kim C is going to host the next meeting for Jan/Feb 2017.  She will have a book selection for us soon and after New Year's we'll get a date for the next meeting.  Hope everyone has a great holiday season! 

Holiday Book Club 2016

Our holiday pick this year is from Lisa:  Wishin and Hopin by Wally Lamb.  I know the selection was decided at last book club in October but we didn't pick a date yet. I've emailed the poll for the next meeting and posted it on our FB group.  Please vote in the next few days because we're looking to meet before Christmas wrecks our schedules and free time!
