September Book Selection... The Winner is:

It was a tie between Never Let Me Go and A Man Called Ove.  Laura randomly drew from a basket (with Kelly observing) and picked Never Let Me Go.   We're aiming for mid-September.  I will send out a meeting poll in a few weeks so hopefully by then everyone has their schedules worked out...

Revealing Our Secrets

Well if you missed the last book club, you missed our discussion of The Husband's Secret which was a long discussion on grief, forgiveness and how well you really know your spouse.  General consensus was that the book was enjoyable read.  It made us a little teary and somewhat confused (too much Berlin Wall).  The next book club selection will be a vote amongst the group.  So please email me (or post on FB) a book you're interested in doing in book club no later than Friday July 17th!  I will get out a poll for you to vote on this weekend.  We're looking to do book club probably mid September......

Thanks again to Bridget for hosting!!!!  We appreciate your hospitality!

July Book Club

Thanks to Kelly for an entertaining book choice!  Bridget is hosting the next book club set for July.  We need to vote on the book selection here and the date and time here.

Book Choices are:
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
or
Unbecoming by Rebecca Scherm

Both interesting choices!  Please vote by Tuesday May 26th!  Poll will close promptly Wed 5/27.  We need a quick turnaround time on the vote so we have time to get the book.

And that was fun.....

Thanks to all who could make it out to Chill to talk about the Graveyard Book.  It was a touch noisy but the libations were delicious.  Consensus was we enjoyed the book mostly.  Some quibbles about the ending but in general we enjoyed it.  Kelly volunteered to do the next book club.  She already has a book selected:  North of Normal: A Memoir of My Wilderness Childhood, My Unusual Family, and How I Survived Both by Cea Sunrise Person.  Since we don't have to vote on a book, we're going to try and meet before Memorial Day if it works for everyone.  I'll send a poll shortly!

March Book Selection

Thank you Lisa for picking an inspiring book!  The consensus was the book was moving and powerful.  We voted for our next book at the meeting.  Our next book is Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book.  Meeting will be the 2nd or 3rd week of March (before Spring Break).  I will put out a date poll.  We're going to meet at Chill for a martini.....
