About Me

My photo
Anjanette
Manager, Business Systems at Yaskawa America. I'm a Mex-A-Swede: Daughter of Roberto Tomas (Mexican) and Marcee Anna (the Swedish side). Wife to Steven and Mother of three wonderful children. My inability to say no has enabled me to be a volunteer for a myriad of organizations: ASUG, Sunday School Teacher, Girl Scout Leader, PTO helper, Book Club Coordinator, former church Elder, etc. My joys are reading, cooking and photography when I can find the time. Despite my lack of writing ability, I like to blog about my kids!

About the Club

Premise: Group of women who want to discuss their thoughts on a book we all read. The host or coordinator of the meeting gets to select the book and the location (can be at your home, at Starbucks, whatever). They will lead the discussion of their book with discussion questions if available. We try to pick something broad (no one wants to read romance all the time or history all the time etc) so bargaining on book selection is not discouraged but should remain respectful.

Since it's difficult to please all people all the time, attendance is not mandatory. If you are not interested in the book selected, you are not required to come. Everyone's tastes are different so it's possible that you will not like the book selected. Hopefully everyone will give the book a chance since that's what you would want for the book you pick....

If you don't attend a meeting for an entire year, you will be left off the mailing list and will not be asked to vote (To have the privilege of voting and shaping book club activities, you have to show up sometimes). Once you attend a meeting, you will be put back on the mailing list and allowed to vote. If you’re on the FB group, you will remain there until you take yourself off.

If you invite a friend, please send me their email address so I can add them to the contact list…. Thanks!
